We had the honor of attending Jenni and Hugh's wedding in sunny and smoky southern California.
Kilts and Scottish accents were plentiful. Jenni looked stunning and the guys looked dashing in their kilts.
The ceremony was quite lovely and reception was rowdy (compared to UT standards) but fun. Just like a Scottish wedding should be.
We chatted it up lots of old acquaintances and friends; it renewed Tim's vigor to get a good job in California... like now. Just not in Santa Clarita, Malibu, or San Diego County.
Hope everyone enjoys the pics.

What Does Tim REALLY Do?
I managed to fall into a profession that is somewhat mysterious. It seems like everyone wants to know what I do, but when I start to explain their eyes glaze over and they start thinking about things like food, football, or shopping.
For the record:
I do learning and development for Clyde Companies Inc. a $700M construction company with 2,800 employees.
Learning and development has the responsibility of providing our organization with things like performance management, knowledge management, and talent management. What are these?
Performance Management -- Making sure that employees set, work towards, and are evaluated on performance goals. We help them achieve their goals through interventions like training.
Knowledge Management -- Making sure the best information makes it into the organization, kept in the organization, and is delivered to the right people in the organization. We do this through resource libraries, discussion boards, podcasts, videos, and various other learning aids.
Talent Management -- Engaging, developing, retaining, and progressing the organization's talent pool. We do this through career planning, skill gap analysis, training, and succession planning.
I have my hands on all of the things listed above.
All in all we feel that we expedite the means by which other units in the organization achieve their ends...money. We help an organization run smoother, happier, more profitably, and more enlightened.
So if people ever ask you what Tim does or you're thinking to yourself, "What does Tim REALLY do?" Now you have a digestible answer.

NEW Purchases!
We bought a treadmill! It's quite nice and complements our current living accommodations. It has a top speed of 10 MPH. Pretty dang fast. It can also take your pulse and calculate how many calories you have burned. It even has a built in fan. Cheri likes it a lot.
So why do 2 people living in a basement apartment need to purchase things such as these? Because we live in a basement, we need to keep our sanity.
Cheri and Tim Newhard est. 2006

We want to use this blog to share pictures and give updates about life's little events. More specifically -- our little events.
We are not egocentric or narcissistic -- we just like to keep in touch with a lot of people and sometimes it can be hard to make all those phone calls.
So, whatever your relationship is to us, we hope you enjoy checking in.
