Porter's turned ONE

Porter has finally turned one. Man where did that year go? I have always felt that he has been older then what he is. He is just a go get'm type. Which has been a treat for us to watch. We are so grateful to have Porter in our lives. He has really made us better people. We love him so much. That's right Porter we love you.
Some things that I have learned from him in just one year.
1. He needs to do it himself. (Really doesn't like help.)
2. You show him how to do something once and he can do it the next time.
3. He loves to be a baby even though he thinks his a big boy.
4. He wants to make people happy.
5. Can sense moods even when there is nothing being said. (Really cute to watch him care.)
6. He loves to play with Penny and tease her as much as he can.
7. Most of all he really loves us. (Even at an early age he shows love.)

What a hike!

Our friends came out from Nebraska and invited us to go on a hike with them. They wanted to go to the Timp Caves. To tell you the honest truth I was wondering how this would go. They are from a really flat state and this hike is not.
They did the hike like it was nothing. They are my hero's! As we kept climbing and we got higher and higher our friend Mandi's Mom Sue got scared. You forget that you could easily fall off the edge there. It was even scary for me.
The hike in and of itself was beautiful. Everything was so green and a little cloudy which helped to keep us happier. If you ever want to go on this hike go in the morning. It was perfect then and not that many people. Also if you want to take your kids I recommend that you wait until they are old enough to really enjoy it and can stay close to you.
Once we finally made it to the cave it was well worth the hike. Being inside was so beautiful. It is amazing what things are inside the earth. I took a lot of crazy pictures. Still I am only sharing a few. When you look back the pictures all started to look the same. Still every where welooked it was different.
We had a great going with our friends Justin and Mandi and their family. Can you believe that it was Tim and my first times to the Caves?! That is right, first time! The great wonders of being in Utah.
