Dinosaur Museum

A little over a month after Jerry had his stroke they came out to visit us. Jerry wasn't able to make it to any of Porter's Birthday Parties so he made a special trip to come and see his only Grandson. One of the things that we did, if you couldn't tell, was go to the Dinosaur Museum in Lehi, Utah. Porter loved all the hands-on stuff and the big dinosaurs. If it was up to him I think he would have touched every single one.
We had a great time having Jerry and Linda out with us for a little while. I know that their Grandson loves having them around also. Porter calls them Papa and Nanners. We always look forward to them visiting and all the new adventures that we get to do.

Mason Brooks Wright

Mason Brooks Wright was born July 6, 2010. This is our 5th Nephew and Porter's 15th cousin. Man our family just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Mason looks just like his Dad, even with the super blonde hair going on. This is Matthew's first boy. We couldn't be happier to have him in our lives. Welcome to the family little Mason. It may seem overwhelming at times, you will have some great memories with us. We love you.

Porter Turns 2

I'm Two!!!!
We had two birthday party's for Porter, which is perfect because he turned two, one in California and the other in Utah. The one in California was with Tim's family and he got spoiled. (sorry I wish I had pictures of it.) He  pretty much got hooked up with all his baseball gear that a little lefty would need.
As for the one in Utah we went with a Toy Story theme. It is his favorite movie. He was so excited to have all of the decorations be Woody and Buzz. You should have seen his face when he saw his Toy Story cake. He just loves his Woody and Buzz.
All and all it was a good birthday. I just wish that it wasn't so windy. Thank you to all of our Family and Friends for making it a great day for our little guy. I can't believe he is two.

June 2010

Our June was full of ups and downs. Tim's Dad, Jerry, had a stroke. News like that is never easy to hear or take.
When we first heard about Jerry going to the hospital we really weren't sure what happened and what to expect. All I knew is that I needed to be with our family and get ready to make the drive to California.
We drove through the night. Tim with the first half and I with the second. I guess it wasn't in our fate to get there in record time because when we hit the El Cajon pass the freeway was at a stand still.  Really, you're not thinking that at 4 o'clock in the morning that freeway traffic going to be at a complete stop. There was a fatality motorcycle accident that shut down the freeway. So we called up our friend Justin to help us find a way around the mess. We ended up going through Phelan and the San Bernadino National Forest. Let's just say it was adventure!
When we finally reached Camarillo it was nice to get out of the car and see our family. The first thing that we did was go and see Jerry in the hospital. He was already in the ICU and the rules are that only two people can see him at a time.
First Linda went in to see him with Jenni. Jenni was only there for about 5 minutes before she had to come out. She took it pretty hard. Then Tim went in and saw his Dad. I think Tim's family was so grateful that he was there. He is the one that can keep his family in check.
Jerry was in the ICU for about a week and then went to a recovery hospital for two weeks and then he was home. He was doing all the same stuff he was doing before the stroke in no time.
We are just glad that Jerry is doing good and that he is back to being Jerry. We love you DAD!!!

This is the only way that Porter was able to see his Papa. This is also the day that he got out of the ICU. Jerry doesn't remember anything about this day or that week. Still Porter loves his Papa.

While we were there Porter was a good distraction for both Linda and Jenni. Thank goodness for kids
