Baby Blessing
On August 17, 2008 we had Porter's baby blessing at the Cedar Hills 15th Ward. Tim's folks came up from CA and all of Cheri's family was able to make it back from Bear Lake to take in the occasion. Porter slept through most of the blessing, which was great because we have had some loud baby blessings as of late ;)
Sad Face
We love our little guy. It already seems like he is growing so fast. One thing we think he will keep is his sad face, which is just like his dad's sad from when he was a baby. He still uses it every once in a while when he really wants to get his way:)

Porter is Here!
After 19 hours of labor and an estimated 380 contractions, Porter is here!
On June 25th at 9am Cheri was induced at Alta View Hospital in Sandy, UT and at 4:09am on June 26th Porter was delivered by Dr. Layne Smith.
He weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz. is 19" long and his head is 38cm around. He has dark brown hair and a lot of it. Cheri thinks that he has Tim's lips and forehead. His nose looks more like Cheri's.
Mom and dad are still recovering from the long night. Mom more than dad for obvious reasons.
Congratulations to all of the new and repeat grandparents and great-grandparents in the family; as well as, all of the aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We know that your help and influence will play a huge part in raising this little guy. We finally get to cash in on some of that baby sitting equity that Cheri has accrued over the years.
Thank you to everyone that has been so generous with their time and gifts during Cheri's pregnancy. You have certainly helped our little guy get the best start possible. And ultimately, that is all we can hope to do. He will eventually have to live his own life and make his own decisions; we just have to hope that we have taught him the right things and given him the best opportunities to learn and grow.

Our New Place
We are buying a place! It is our 1,800 sq. ft. of heaven with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms located in Cedar Hills, UT. It has some pretty nice views of UT Valley, backs up to the mountain, is next to Cedar Hills Golf Course, and is right next to the mouth of American Fork Canyon. We should close June 11th and move in the 12th and 13th. It will be nice to be out on our own. We will have a chance to finally carve out our own identity and place in the world.
Cheri's Birthday/Memorial Day Weekend
During the Memorial Day weekend Cheri's family goes out to visit the graves of relatives. At the grave of Nellie Brossard (Shirley's mom) Shirley carries on the tradition of throwing out salt water taffy for the kids after singing "Love at Home," which is something that her mom used to do. It's fun for the kids. It's fun for us because we get to watch the kids run around like crazy picking up candy.
